The Obudhigiya bwa Bwamba New Cabinet sworn in following the king’s first ever reshuffle since establishment.

The new cabinet of the Obudhigiya bwa Bwamba cultural institution in Bundibugyo district has been sworn in officially taking on their respective offices. The function took place at the king’s place in Bundibudyo district on Saturday.

This came after the king of the cultural institution His Royal Highness Lt. Col Rtd Martin Ayongi Kamya last week reshuffled his cabinet, the first time ever since ascending to the throne in 2014.

The cultural leader opted to make changes to the kingdom’s prime minister and the deputies, relocating them to different them to different positions. In the changes, these individuals were not appointed as ministers this time.

Wilson Mubulya, who served as the prime minister since 2014 has been succeeded by Charles Bukantwa, Mubulya now will serve as the Chairperson of the Special advisers.

Shortly after taking oath, the new prime minister praised the king for appointing him and revealed that he will do everything within his power to steer development in Uganda’s youngest cultural institution.

Bukantwa, who now assumes the role of Prime Minister previously served as the Minister of Finance for the kingdom.

He said as the kingdom they will work with government in implementing its programs for the development of the institution.

Rev.Kyomuhendo, on the other hand retained his position as the cultural institution’s spokesperson in the revamped cabinet.

Several other ministers underwent reassignments within the new cabinet with John Musinguzi now the minister of Trade, he previously held the position of Minister for Royal Protocol and Welfare.

Dr.James Maisaba, the newly appointed Minister of Health and Medical superintendent has taken over the responsibility previously held by Charles Salube who passed away.

Babungyi Josephine, the Bundibugyo woman member of Parliament used the opportunity to call for an end to teenage pregnancies and child marriages that have become rampant in the district.

Josephine says the kingdom should come up with modalities aimed at fighting these vices that she says have crippled the development of the district for a long time.

In his message, the king called for consistency, accountability, continuity and transparency of the leaders as they execute their work.
