In a bid to foster digital inclusion and empower communities with essential technological skills, the American Tower Corporation (ATC) has unveiled a digital community hub in Fort Portal offering free Information and Communication Technology (ICT) learning and digital skills.
The project aims to bridge the digital divide and equip individuals with the tools necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Dorothy Kabagambe Ssemanda, the Chief Executive Officer ATC Uganda said the project seeks to empower individuals with the skills and knowledge essential for thriving in the digital age.
The initiative comes at a crucial time when access to digital resources and proficiency in ICT are paramount for personal and professional growth.
The digital community hub, launched by American Tower Corporation, serves as a comprehensive platform where individuals can access a wide range of resources, including online courses, tutorials, and interactive workshops covering various aspects of ICT and digital skills.
From basic computer literacy to advanced programming languages, the hub caters to learners of all levels, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for everyone.
Ssemanda says the initiative has already garnered widespread support from various stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations.
